Hello. Thank you for your question.
I have a few questions for you. When did you first notice this spot? Do you have any eye pain or pain when you move your eye? Have you experienced anything like this before?
I first noticed the spot last Thursday evening, but I noticed the blurred vision the day before, Wednesday (23rd). I have no eye pain nor any pain when I move my eyes. I could say there is slight discomfort once in while, but very mild and for very short periods. I have not experienced this before.
Thank you for your response. What you are describing to me sounds like a scotoma. A scotoma is a blurred spot in your vision.
The most common causes of a central scotoma are problems related to your optic nerve or retina (specifically your macula which is responsible for your central vision).
In someone your age, with no other history, I would be concerned about optic neuritis or optic neuropathy.
I would advise you to see an ophthalmologist as soon as you can.
Although I am submitting this as the answer to your question, please do not hesitate to respond if you would like me to clarify or expand upon anything that I have mentioned above. Also, please let me now if you have any other questions.
