is there surgery available to put a lens on an eye that has scar tissue?

Doctor DanB : Hello and thanks for your question. Is the scar tissue on the cornea or retina or somewhere else in the eye?

Both. There is scar tissue on her cornea and retina.

Doctor DanB : While the scar tissue in the cornea can be dealt with by either laser, transplant surgery or both, the retina is a different issue. Big the scar tissue on the retina is in the center of the retina them it will affect the vision and unfortunately there is no surgery that can restore that lost function. The only thing a lens would do is focus the light going to the retina. If the retina ( like film in a camera) was dysfunctional, the lens wouldn't change that. Does that make sense?
Doctor DanB : Do you have any other questions about this?

No, that makes sense. Thank you for the information.
