Dr. Tom :

Great.....is there a bright red area on your eye?

Customer:

yes

Dr. Tom :

OK.....stand by for a minute while I type your answer..

Dr. Tom :

Don't worry. This sounds like you have a sub-conjuntival hemorrhage. This is NOT serious. They often occur with straining....but sometimes there is no clear cause. It will clear up slowly on it's on, like a skin bruise. Using Optive is fine. Does this make sense?.....any additional questions?

Customer:

what about using Visene

Dr. Tom :

That would be OK........personally I recommend Systane 3 or 4 times a day. It is over the counter and tends to do a better job stabilizing the tear film. Is there an other concern

Dr. Tom :

Please don't forget to rate my help to you by clicking a happy face....Some folks forget...and then the doctor does not get any credit for working on line..Thanks...and let me know if you have any other questions.
