Customer:

My Name Is XXXXX XXXXX this morning I got up and was ok then my left eye is full of blood and not sure what do do.

Dr. Tom : Hello let me see if I can help you. Linda, has this bleeding affected your vision?
Customer:

No it has not affected my vision the white part of my eye is full of blood.

Dr. Tom :

So that I understand...is your entire eye red? Have you had loss of vision ?

Dr. Tom :

Are you on any blood thinners?

Dr. Tom :

Are you in any significant pain?

Customer:

My entire eye on the left is very red my vision is ok.

Customer:

I do take a ASA 81mg every day

Customer:

I have no pain it just feels like something in my eye

Dr. Tom :

Thanks for that information. It sound like you have had a spontaneous sub-conjuntival hemorrhage . Don't worry. The good news is that these typically clear up by themselves in about a week. These are very common , and usually no cause is found. Straining , suppressing a sneeze, or very minor trauma, like rubbing the eye, can break the tiny blood vessels. But if you don't see slow improvement or if you have any loss of vision you should consult an ophthalmologist. Does that make sense?

Dr. Tom :

Is there anything else I can answer for you about this?

Customer:

yes that does make sense and thanks for your help

Dr. Tom :

You bet....best wishes.

Customer:

Can I rinse the eye or is it better not to.

Dr. Tom :

Yes.....an artificial tear drop like Systane used several times a day will be fine. But remember, like any other bruise , the red has to fade away on it's own.

Customer:

Ok I did no that for the red it will go away on its own thank you for your help have a great day
