I have been told I need a biopsy on a small lymphnode in my bottom eyelid.
I have Mantle cell lymphoma and think it is a symptom of the lymphoma. Should I have the biopsy anyway ?

Dr. Rick :

Hi. I'm online and happy to answer your question today.

Dr. Rick :

Yes. The only way to know what is going on with that lymph node for sure is to have the pathologist take a look at it.

Dr. Rick :

Your doctor would not recommend this if she didn't think it was necessary.

what does a biopsy involve. Anaesthesia? Can I drive home?

Does it hurt?

They will numb the area with a little lidocaine, make small incision and, if necessary, put in a stitch or two.

You will be able to drive home but you might want to bring someone to drive just in case.

It is a very straight forward procedure. You will do fine. :)
