can a wisdom tooth being pulled cause an eye infection

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Hello, Welcome to Pearl.com

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Are you available for chat now?

Dr. A.S. Desai :

No, wisdom tooth extraction would NOT cause any eye infection.

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Do you have any eye symptoms now?

Customer:

red, watery eyes now

Customer:

and they are itchy now and again

Dr. A.S. Desai :

In that case it could be likely to be due to allergic conjunctivitis. This condition is characterised by redness/itching/ropy thread like stringy discharge.

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Treatment for mild cases is anti-allergy eye drops such as over the counter Alaway/Zaditor eye drops, 1 drop twice a day for 2 weeks. If symptoms persist beyond 2weeks after treatment then it is better to get the eyes examined by an ophthalmologist for start of Olopatadine eye drops(Pataday), 1 drop twice a day for 2-3 weeks.

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Please feel free to ask follow up questions if any.
