Customer Question

My 48 yr old brother has glaucoma and extreme light sensitivity and continuous pain. What can we do to help him. Why so much pain?

pippistrellodaqua :

Severe pain should not be a factor in glaucoma unless it is a type of glaucoma called angle-closure glaucoma.

pippistrellodaqua :

Pain of the eye really should be examined by an eye care professional (ophthalmologist or optometrist.)

pippistrellodaqua :

I usually am able to help with diagnosis on this site, but in the case of eye pain it truly is something that needs to be checked. As an optometrist I treat plenty of glaucoma, but pain is not a typical presentation. I'll be available throughout the evening to answer any follow-up questions should they arise.
