Doctor DanB : Hello and thanks for your question. Unfortunately, because the optic nerve is an outgrowth of the brain, it behaves like the brain.

Doctor DanB : In this respect, once either is damaged, they don't regenerate. Up to now, medical science has not figured out how to regenerate the brain or optic nerve. I'm sorry to have to share that bad news with you.
