What does EEG results "6" mean. My uncle is in ICU on a ventilator after some type of cardiac event. His eyes open and he is able to make eye contact . He however is not following commands like "squeeze my hand". He will blink though. I have not noticed any other movement. The MD gave us the result of "6" when we asked for the EEG results

Hi. I'm online and happy to answer your question today.
We have been experiencing problems with the chat system for the last few days. Our engineers are working on it. However, I'll switch over to the Q&A system. This system works a lot like 'text messaging' but an email is sent to each of us anytime something is posted to this thread. We can continue to work on your question there..... :)
Our chat has ended, but you can still continue to ask me questions here until you are satisfied with your answer. Come back to this page to view our conversation and any other new information. What happens now? If you haven’t already done so, please rate your answer above. Or, you can reply to me using the box below.
What your doctor is referring to is your Uncle's rating on the Glasgow Coma scale. This is the compilation of a number of responses that your Uncle gives to specific tasks or tests that, when all tabulated up, give an indication of how well he is functioning. Here is the score card used in the Glasgow Coma scale:http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/scales/glasgow.htmAs you can see, with a score of 6 your Uncle is considered to currently be in a coma.Does this make sense to you? Please remember the top 3 ratings are positives [Excellent service is my goal] and this is how we are compensated. Rate my answer when you are satisfied. If you feel the need to rate low, please stop and reply to me via the REPLY TO EXPERT button with the issue you have. I will be happy to continue further and do everything I can to provide you with the service you seek.Otherwise, a high positive rating is very much appreciated, bonuses are great, and find me anytime for follow up.Let me know if you have further questions.I hope your Uncle improves soon.
I see that you gave me a negative rating....even before I answered your question :(I hope you will help me to change this negative rating by pressing the "excellent service" smiley face for my answer or, if you are still upset with my response, reply back to me so I can work to give you the information you require to better understand what is going on with your Uncle.Thank you.
