Customer Question

I had an epileptic complex partial seizure this monrning and about an hour later I noticed that I somehow hit the corner of my eye on something and I now have an open wound there and of course a bruise. Do you know how I can heal it without leaving a scar which will make me very unhappy if this happens?

Optional Information:
Person's Gender: Female
Person's Age: 44

Already Tried:
I haven't tried anything, as I don't want to put anything close to the eye itself, just in case it gets into the eye and has any effect on the open wound.

Dr. Rick :

Hi. I'm online and happy to answer your question today.

Dr. Rick :

Is this on your actual eyeball itself? How is your vision?

Dr. Rick :

Are you available to chat, mate? (Do you say 'mate' when addressing a person of the fairer sex?)

Dr. Rick :

I see that you are offline. I'll switch over to the Q&A system. This system works a lot like 'text messaging' but an email is sent to each of us anytime something is posted to this thread. We can continue to work on your question there..... :)

No, it seems like it has nothing to do with the eyeball as I don't know what I did at the time. It's like I'm sleepwalking when I have these stupid seizures and it's right next to the open right eye on the outer skin. Can you help me fix this problem or do you only deal with the actual eye ball and sight itself?

I can help you with that....it's close enough to the eye to count as an eye thing :)

If you don't think it needs stitches but you want to get it to heal better you can close the wound with steri strips or a small butterfly bandage.

If you don't have any of these available then your can use that really strong tape used for mailing packages that has the fiberglass or fibers in it. Do you know what I mean? This tape works as well as a steri strip.

Just cut thin (1/8th inch or so) piece and as long as you need to go across the cut (not very long usually) and after cleaning and drying the skin, attach the tape to one side of the cut, hold the other side gently, pull the edges together (don't overlap the skin edges) and stick it down. Try to leave the tape on for 5 days or so or until it falls off.

Cuts in this area heal really well as a general rule due to the excellent blood supply.

Does this make sense to you?

I'm sorry I gave you a bad service rating, and you still want your credit for not giving me all the information that I would like to hear. That is a shame.

I'm still available to give you more information. Just ask and I will do my best to provide.
