Resolved Question:

Last night while dancing I felt hotter and I sweated more than usual.
I had a slight twinge near my shoulder blade. This morning I felt
sleepier than usual and there was unusual puffiness below my eyes.
Should I suspect a heart problem? (I do have a history of hypochondria.)

Dr. Rick :

Hi. I'm online and happy to answer your question today.

Dr. Rick :

From what you have told me it doesn't sound like you are having a problem with your heart.

Customer:

O.K.

Dr. Rick :

I think that the puffiness you are experiencing under your eyes is from a weakness in your orbital septum that has allowed orbital fat to prolapse forward.

Dr. Rick :

This is nothing to worry about. The only way to correct it, however, is with minor eyelid surgery.

Customer:

The puffiness is not something I'm used to seeing. If it doesn't go away, I;ll bring it up with my physician when I see him for my annual physical a few weeks from now.

Dr. Rick :

Sounds like an excellent plan.

Customer:

Thanks. Are there any things other than the obvious that I should watch out for when/if I resume my usual exercise?

Dr. Rick :

No. I think you will be ok.

Dr. Rick :

And, now, the obligatory word from our sponsors: :o)
