Hi. I'm online and happy to answer your question today.
This is called hyperhidrosis. Is that what you mean?
Yes,I believe that is it. She wont wear sandels because she is embarrassed.
Do you know what medicine she was using that didn't work? There are a number of them....
no I am sorry. She has been on two different kinds and both worked for a little while then stopped..Someone said something about something under the arm but I didnt know how drastic that is.
The under arm treatment, that works well, is called dysport. This is the same drug as in botox and can stop the underarm sweating for up to 9 months with one treatment. Other surgical options (not, however, when she is this young.....) is endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy. This removes the nerves that run the sweat glands and can work for all areas, including the hands, arm pits, feet and face.
Some doctors do ETS on children and it works very well....
I dont think it is even under her arms it is all in her hands and feet. Will that work for that?
Yes, it can. If you were thinking about checking out all her treatment options, I know for a fact that the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Mn is one of the leading hospitals for hyperhidrosis.
Here is a link to their web page and how to contact them:
By the way, how's your chalazion doing? Did the lid scrubs and warm soaks work?
Thank tou so much! That helps a lot plus my father goes to mayo quite often..
