Ask an Eye Doctor and Get an Answer ASAP
What type of cancer did you have?
What are you doing for you eyes now?
I have had breast cancer twice and am not doing anything for my eyes.
How often do you get the "head zings" ?
everyday, more since I stopped antidpressants.
I'd recommend you use artificial tears regularly 4-6 times a day. dsa
chemotherapy can cause the tear gland (i.e. lacrimal gland) to not secrete enough tears.
This can cause dry eyes and cause these sharp pains you are feeling.
why would that help?
If your eyes are dry, artificial tears help keep them lubricated.
I don't have dry eyes
How do you know?
my eye doctor says I don't
When was the last time you saw your ophthalmologist?
Beginning of the year and will see her next month.
I'd recommend you try the artificial tears.
chemotherapy can affect the glands of the body and cause them to function poorly.
You can ask your doctor to performa Schirmer's test the next you see her to test your tear production.
I will ask her when I see her next month. Thank you
