I have a pain on the left side of my neck below the ear and my mouth cannot form a whistle movement. I also have a lazy eye on the left as well.
Hello and welcome to JustAnswer! I am currently online and able to help answer your questions. Are you available to chat?
yes
Hello- Is this "lazy eye" something new?
yes just today
Everything started acutely?
Do you suffer from hypertension? diabetes? any other medical issues?
Have you been sick recently?
well no. last night i had some pain like a trapped nerve in my left shoulder
and then you woke up with your current issues?
yea but they seem to have deleloped througout the day
do you have double vision?
is your eye drifting in toward your nose or out?
no just watery eyes and numb lips on the left side of my face
What do you mean by "lazy"? the lid?
yea it just feels heavy if that maes sense
Can you smile? is your smile symmetric?
I had an ear infection which is gone now but i used some drops last night just to clear it up
yea i am fine that way
So you just feel a sensation of heaviness but if I were to look at you I would not see any unusual in your appearance.
well no not really although I can see my droopy left eye but not bad
So you do have a droopy lid?
just slight heavy over the lid but the lid is ok
Is it at the same height as your other lid?
yes. it is just the numb sensation in my upper and lower lips that is annoying in sofar ar I am slurping in order to drink any liquids
I am worried that you may be having something serious going on. Especially with the neck pain- the nerves that innervate your lid and pupils run down along the blood vessels of your neck. Please get to an emergency room to be evaluated for a carotid dissection. This is a serious medical condition that needs immediate attention.
thank you doctor
I hope that I am wrong! Please keep me posted!!!
will do
Best of luck!
good bye

I am sorry that I have worried you but it is better to be on the safe side than to be sorry!
I have been thinking of your situation and I wanted to know if you were able to see a doctor. What was the diagnosis?
