I have been treated for uveitis with Atropine and steroids

Customer Question

I have been treated for uveitis with Atropine and steroids for 2 months. The pain has disspated but my pupil is still larger than the other and vision in the affected eye is still blurred. My doctor wants me to return to him and I intend to. The question is, My livelihood depends on my eyesight. I am a histology technician and I must look at my specimens with the aided and unaided eye. I have been under a minimum of of 6 weeks of intensive steroid eye drop therapy but have not seen a resolution or restoration of my eyesight back to my norm. What are the chances of a complete restoration of my eye sight now? Am I looking at a complete disabilty? Or, is there still hope? Please let me know.

Doctor DanB : Are you still taking the atropine? If not, when did you stop it?
Doctor DanB : I'm happy to give you my answer and have further discussion about it but I need to have you answer those questions first. My answer will depend on when you stopped the atropine and Cyclogyl or if you're still on them. I'll await your answer.
