Hello
Several days ago my eye was very sensitive to light, tearing ,red and felt like something was in it.
I called pcp and she prescribed eyedrops for conjunctivitis ciprofloxain
It is important to say I wear extended wear contact lens user for many years.
after five days on medicine there is no improvement at all. And I have not been wearing my contact lenses. If it is something other than pink eye will this medication be the same for a corneal ulcer? My eye still hurts just as much as day I called PCP.
I know I should see an eye Dr. But we are having a snow storm?

Dr. Rick :

Hi. I'm online and happy to answer your question today.

Dr. Rick :

Well, with the history of contact lens use and no response to cipro drops it is possible that you have a corneal ulcer.

Customer:

Will this medicine im on help?

Dr. Rick :

If it has not helped by now it probably won

Dr. Rick :

won't

Dr. Rick :

I think you should try to be examined by an ophthalmologist today if at all possible. Some ERs have an eye surgeon on call who can come in and see you.

Dr. Rick :

If this is not possible, the snowstorm not withstanding, you should have an ER physician have a look at you. Some of them know how to operate a slit lamp and can give you a different antibiotic.
