No it does not damage your eyes if used intermittently and occasionally. One active ingredient in most Clear Eyes products is naphazoline hydrochloride, an ocular vasoconstrictor which helps the blood vessels get tighter and the eyes appear brighter. However, once the medication wears off there is a tendency for the blood vessels to dilate even more and so the patient uses more of the drop and it becomes the endless cycle and may patients find themselves constantly using the drops. The best thing to do is see an eye doctor and figure out why your eyes are red and treat the underlying cause.
