My eye doctor diagnosed me with blepharitis and gave me blephamide

Customer Question

My eye doctor diagnosed me with blepharitis and gave me blephamide drops with the instruction to use one drop at bedtime as needed when I have symptoms that aren't going away. I don't know what "as needed" means in terms of the number of concurrent days. Can you help? I know because it has an antibiotic in it, I shouldn't take it for too many days in a row. Thanks!

Hi-

Sorry, I haven't used this site before, so I clicked "accept answer" when I meant to click reply to expert.

I misunderstood your answer, and thought that your suggestion was to be on the medication for 3 to 4 weeks but I get it now. The prescription noted "once a day at bedtime as needed," but didn't give me any more details so not sure how long I need to take at that dosage to be effective.

Sounds like I should do this run of the medication (I started two days ago) and then go back to your original suggestion.

I think you could just quit the drops and go to plan B: Natural tears, warm compresses and good ole-fashioned baby shampoo :)

I hope you feel better soon.
