I got a drop of phosphoric acid in my eye and have flushed

Resolved Question:

I got a drop of phosphoric acid in my eye and have flushed for 20 minutes. It is still irritated. If I go to the emergency room it's over 3 hours away. Is there anything else i should do?

Dr. Rick :

Hi. I'm online and happy to answer your question today.

Dr. Rick :

What strength was the acid? How is your vision? Is your cornea cloudy?

Dr. Rick :

the computer says you are in the chat room. Are you available to chat?

I'm not sure, I do not have the MSDS sheet but it is called OSPHO which is a formula of phosphoric and dichromate used to convert rust to a paintable surface. Feels much better, a raw feeling on the side of my eye. Not a direct hit to cornea and only a single drop. Just very raw feeling now. Not cloudy vision. Hurts mostly when i blink or keep eye shut.
