Dr. A.S. Desai :

Hello, Welcome to Just Answer

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Are you available for chat now?

Customer:

Yes

Dr. A.S. Desai :

My screen shows that you have stepped in and out of the chat many times.

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Shall we continue with the chat session?

Customer:

I am sorry. This is my first time here and I am not sure what to do.

Customer:

Yes.

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Could you specify since how many weeks/months have you had the fleshy growths?

Customer:

My eye was bothering me this morning and I first noticed it.

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Ok

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Are the fleshy growths seen between the inner corner of the eye and the colored part of the eye? Is it seen in both eyes?

Customer:

Not quite in the inner corner. Up more to the middle and yes in both eyes.

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Does the fleshy growth appear similar to this image-

Customer:

No they are larger

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Ok

Dr. A.S. Desai :

But it does seem to be like pterygium. It is a kind of degeneration of the white part of the eye called conjunctiva.

Customer:

And what do I do about it?

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Pterygium is not exactly a serious condition but if left alone for years it can have a tendency to grow over the cornea, which then becomes a problem. So it is better to get it surgically removed if they are large .

Customer:

ok. Thank you. Will eye drops help?

Customer:

So should i be examined by my eye-doctor?

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Eye drops such as over the counter lubricating drops -preservative free refresh tears, 1 drop 4 times a day will help to give soothening effect.

Dr. A.S. Desai :

But only surgery can help you to get rid of the fleshy growths.

Customer:

Alright. Thank you.
