Dr. Rick :

Hi. I'm online and happy to answer your question today.

Dr. Rick :

are you available to chat?

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

yes

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

hello are you there?

Dr. Rick :

yes. I am here. Where, in relation to her lower eyelids/eyeball is this redness? Is it just red or is it rough/scaly/thickened etc?

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

its where you get eye bags, it is like a red line there, i thought maybe it could be due to tiredness, but I am not sure

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

its on both sides

Dr. Rick :

does it seem to bother her?

Dr. Rick :

also, has it been present her entire life?

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

no, i dont think so... it bothers me though...cos its quite bright

Dr. Rick :

is she there with you now?

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

cant really say.....could be 6 months but it comes and goes

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

yes she is

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

could she be lacking anything?

Dr. Rick :

ok, can you pull down her lower lids with your index finger....just gently, and see if the inside of her lower lid (conjunctiva) looks normal to you?

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

yes it looks normal

Dr. Rick :

ok good.

Dr. Rick :

I do not believe she has any ocular pathology going on at this time. I also don't believe this is a sign of anything she would be lacking in her diet etc. If she is being breast fed that supplies everything she needs along with the solids she is taking in. And any diet that a concerned mom such as yourself would be giving her would also cover all these bases :o)

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

so you think its nothing to worry about?

Dr. Rick :

It might be worth having her peds MD have a look at it since it is so brightly red right now, but I don't think you need to be overly concerned

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

what is peds MD?

Dr. Rick :

I've had 5 kids and, at times they've had weird things....and they all turned out OK (for the most part )

Dr. Rick :

pediatrician

Dr. Rick :

too long of a word to type....

JACUSTOMER-xhvnnyij- :

Ok i may take her to the doctors first. thanks for your help

Dr. Rick :

my pleasure

Dr. Rick :

And, now, the obligatory word from our sponsors: :o)
