Are you there?
Central serous retinopathy is caused by collection of fluid from a small leak underneath the retina
this involves the central part of the retina called macula
usually there is no cause for CSR (Central serous retinopathy)
it is idiopathic i.e. occurs spontneously
there are some postulated causes which can contribute towards the occurence of CSR
stress is an important cause
other is diabetes
other rare causes are high levels of cortisol
ususally a CSR resolves spontaneously
no treatment is required
it might take 3-4 months
but if the leak still persists or if the CSR increases, then you might need laser photocoagulation to seal the leak
do you need any more information?
thank you for your reply, had an error on the page and couldn't accept. Had CSR on the way to fathers funeral it did recover in a few months without treatment so I would say this might have been caused by stress. Will it recur?
