Dr. Rick :

Hi. I'll be happy to help you today.

Dr. Rick :

The good news is that the chili pequin pepper juice will cause no damage to your childs eyes.

Dr. Rick :

I see you already flushed with tap water. You should do that for at least 15 min.

Customer :

How do I remove any of the capsain (sp?) oil from his fingers so prevent any further irritation on his face?

Dr. Rick :

soap and water should take off the peper juice....how old is your child.

Customer :

5 1/2 yrs old. I know it is an oily substance from the peppers. Would alcohol sanitizer help remove from his hands?

Dr. Rick :

Soap and water should take off the oils. Alcohol wipes won't work as well, but they may help if soap and water is not available

Customer :

Ok. He has washed his hands several times with soap and water. His eyes feel better. Thanks

Dr. Rick :

Also take a warm soapy wash cloth and use that to get the oils off her eyelids/face.

Dr. Rick :

If it still hurts, and this sounds crazy but it works, put rinse his eye with cool milk.

Dr. Rick :

The milk absorbs the oils and sooths the eye. You don't have to do this if the above steps work, but cold milk really works

Customer :

Sounds good. If it continues I will try the milk. Thanks

Dr. Rick :

you can put the milk right on the eyeball without any damage

Dr. Rick :

Customer :

Dr. Rick :

Give him a hug for me....
