my right eye..eye management of an ophthalmologist..my eyes

Resolved Question:

Recently the epithilial layer in my right eye was found to be exposed but with eye management of an ophthalmologist, it has now fully and firmly closed. About an hour ago, when cleaning my eyes with cottonwool and saline, the cottonwool accidentally poked into my right eye. Not very hard, just a quick action. Will it cause the epithilial layer to be exposed again? Please advise. Help!

Dr. A.S. Desai :

Hello, Welcome to Just Answer

Dr. A.S. Desai :

It is very unlikely that cottonwool will cause any corneal epithelial defect.

JACUSTOMER-a3kyymna- :

So you are saying that the epithelial layer won't just get exposed by my cleaning accident earlier?

Dr. A.S. Desai :

If at all you feel that there has been an exposure of the corneal epithelium again, you will experience severe pain, excessive watering of that eye, redness. In that case simple patching of the eye with lubricating eye ointment for 1 day is sufficient for it to heal.
