Hello,Do you have any change in vision?Have you used any eye drops?Do you wear contact lenses?
Slight bluriness. No drops yet and I do not wear contacts.
Scratches on the surface of the eye often heals very well in 1-2 days. It is important to keep it lubricated with artificial tears to allow your eye to heal. The one thing to watch out for is an infection since you were poked with a twig. It is advisable you see a doctor for antibiotic eye drops to help prevent any infections. From your description, it appears your injury is minor since you are only having minor symptoms. The bleeding is similar to a bruise and will go away in 1-2 weeks. It is better to see your eye doctor for evaluation and antibiotics, but doesn't appear to need an emergency room tonight. If the pain or vision worsens, then you should see a doctor tonight.
The blood is migrating into the iris area of the eye. Is this normal as well?
Yes, the blood can sometimes spread with is not unexpected. The bleeding is called a subconjunctival hemorrhage.
Anything else that I should watch for or be concerned with?
Infection is the most worrisome thing and retain matter from the twig. These two things would have discharge from the eye, persistent or worsening pain, light sensitivity, worsening vision.
Thank you very much.
