Welcome to Just Answer

The commonest cause of such symptoms is posterior vitreous detachment ( PVD ) in which the thick gel at the middle of the eye ( vitreous ) gets detached from its surrounding .Usually it is due to aging and as such is a harmless condition and does not require any treatment . Rarely in the event of it causing traction on the retina, may result in retinal tears which occasionally progress to a retinal detachment. This is characterised by a sudden decrease in vision or rather like a curtain falling in the line of vision, and should be reported to an ophthalmologist immediately.

As of now in the absence of any acute symptoms( of RD) , these floaters due to PVD do not require any treatment.

Occasionally flashes of light are seen in migraine which may be associated with headache and nausea or vomiting. It can be treated with Tab. Acetaminophen 500 mg twice a day till pain subsides. For nausea tab. domperidone 10 mg , 30mins before meals can be taken, twice a day.
