Did the redness come same day as swimming?
what other eyedrops have you tried besides the antibiotic? What antibiotic were you given? Do you wear contacts?
it sounds like you have been treated appropriately using an antibiotic / steroid combination. The fact that this medicine did not help points to an allergic / irritation that is causing your symptoms. At this point my suggestion is for you to purchase a preservative free Artificial tear to use at least 4-6 times a day as well as a lubricating eye ointment for night time use (such as paralube). Stop using any other antibiotic as well as lubricants with any preservative. Preservative free lubricants come in small single use vials that you use and throw away and this will help with your symptoms within a few days. If the redness increases, I would revisit the ophthalmologist to ensure the eye pressure is alright and there is no other serious issue. I wish you well, Dr. Stevens
Sorry for the late reply, In the USA, the preservative free tears are made by several companies such as Refresh brand Celluvisc and Bausch and Lomb Soothe (you can see it here http://www.bausch.com/en_US/consumer/visioncare/product/drops/dry_eye_consumer.aspx
The night time ointments are very common and even store brands are acceptable, Regards XXXXX XXXXX
