I wear soft contacts (acuvue). I have been using rewetting

Customer Question

I wear soft contacts (acuvue). I have been using rewetting drops, made for contacts, a lot recently. (Up to three times a day- mostly later at night or while on the computer) Is this bad for my eyes? Do I need to change my contacts more that once per month?

Acuvue contact lenses are 2-week lenses, not monthly. They should be changed every 2 weeks. There are also new generations of Acuvue, such as Advanced or Oasys that have higher water content and tends to be more comfortable. A new lens called O2 Optix Aqua has the highest water content (called DK value) on the market that you can try.

Using rewetting drops won't hurt your eyes. Just won't feel comfortable if your eyes are getting dry. You may want to try some of the newer ones listed above.

Hope this helps.
