Sometimes the Experts on JustAnswer take time out of their busy schedules to help reporters with their stories and provide their insight and expertise. They’ve let readers know whether dental x-rays are safe for kids, and even whether or not it was possible for Lady GaGa to remove her leg for the sake of fashion. (That was a real rumor going around!)
Most recently, Veterinarian and Pet Expert on JustAnswer, Dr. Gary Ryder, ranked what he believes are the best pets for kids from most to least kid-friendly for Parenting.com. So in case your child is begging for a pet, here’s a helpful list to weigh the options:
1. Large dogs like Labs are typically friendly and encourage kids to be active outdoors.
2. Cats are playful and pretty easy for kids to care for, but won’t hesitate to scratch.
3. Hamsters can be fun to watch and handle, but they require frequent cage cleanings and have a short life span.
4. Fish require bowl cleanings and can’t be handled, so kids get bored.
