Is it acceptable for the mother of the bride, my daughter, to send out an announcement of her marriage a few months ago, or is the announcement to be sent out by the newlyweds?

wedding announcements are, according to the classic rules of etiquette, supposed to be sent out as soon as reasonably possible after the actual date of the wedding, by the parents of the bride.

With todays protocols, however, both families may be included as making the announcement.

Yes, even more 'modern' couples are making the announcement themselves, but that is usually only if they, themselves have arranged and paid for their own wedding.

Being a classic etiquette professional I prefer the traditional announcement made by the brides' family. And of course do not forget to include a photo of the couple
