Hello and welcome! My name is ***** ***** I am a licensed attorney who will try my very best to help with your situation or get you to someone who can. There may be a slight delay in my responses as I research statutes or ordinances and type out an answer or reply, but rest assured, I am working on your question.

.

After someone dies, Maryland law does not provide a precise time limit or deadline for filing that person’s will with the Register of Wills. However, whoever has the will (or finds the will) must file it “promptly” after the person dies. If the person with the will refuses to file it with the Register of Wills, they can be sued by someone who is harmed by their refusal.
