My wife's dad passed away march 28,2016. we were told of

my wife's dad passed away march 28,2016. we were told of will but never shown or read her dad will. he had three girls,prior to marring his second wife. when he passed vehicle given to one of wife and his daughter. camping trailer given to her son, his adopted. I have found no record of death anywhere. he was a wwii veteran. and retired from park
service as civil engineer. 40 yrs of service. my wife has heard from stepsister that he had will and the money they his three daughters before marriage were to receive 18,000.00. she was told that money went to taxes on Southfork co. property.
this does not sound right to me. some help would be helpful
