My fathers' will states that assets are to be divided

Customer Question

My fathers' will states that assets are to be divided equally between myself and my sister - "share and share alike". My sister told me that the lawyer states that all the land has to be put into both of our names and then has to be split up....I'm not sure I believe that or understand why that is...can you help me?
