Hello and welcome! My name is ***** ***** I am a licensed attorney who will try my very best to help with your situation or get you to someone who can. There may be a slight delay in my responses as I research statutes or ordinances and type out an answer or reply, but rest assured, I am working on your question.

Wife can't make a claim to the inheritance as long as you keep it in your sole name in a bank account in your name. Inheritances and gifts are considered separate property of the recipient and not marital assets unless you mingle them with marital money or assets.

So as long as you keep the money separate, it remains your separate property and not subject to any division in a divorce.
