If my Dad does go into a nursing home and my mother sells

Customer Question

If my Dad does go into a nursing home and my mother sells her house, how much of the money can she keep from the sale of the house or does it all go to the nursing home?

is the home aware of it? can you place it in trust?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I don't know what that means? My mother and father still live in there home. Right now my Dad is in the hospital, but there is the possibility of him going into a nursing home. My mother does not want to keep the house, it's too much to take care of, so I am just wondering if the nursing home could take the money from the sale of the home or if my Mom would get to keep some of it, a percentage of the sale?

It is better to remove property from personal name. Place it in trust for family benefit, which better protects it from creditors.

Otherwise the creditor could try to force the sale

Let me know if that is clearer and helpful.
