My Sister and mother had a joint checking account. My mother recently passed away with alot of credit card debt. My sister closed the account. She is not a coowner of any of the credit card debt. Is she liable for any of the debt?

No, your sister would not be liable for this debt because she was not a co-owner on the account, and I'm assuming did not personally guarantee to pay for it. The debt would have to be paid out of your mother's estate (those assets your mother owned, if any, titled solely in her name). If there is no estate, then the credit card companies should be informed of this, and provided a copy of your mother's death certificate along with your request that the accounts be closed.
