Good afternoon. This is going to depend upon the trust agreement itself. If well drafted, it will have provisions for a successor trustee appointment in the event the existing trustee dies, resigns, or is removed. Generally, there is either someone specifically named or there is a board designated to appoint a new trustee. You would have to either be the named successor or you would have to get the advisory board to appoint you in order to be named the successor trustee.
