Iowa law I believe the Executor or the will needs to live in the state? Or is there and alterative if out of state to stay at thet status? My parents live in Iowa and have this concern as I live out of state which is there first choice.

Actually the statute says that if a non-resident is the executor that a resident be named as well but courts can, and often do, waive that requirement. Usually the lawyer you use will agree to let you use their address for the purpose of the estate and will serve as your "agent" sufficient to allow a court to waive any out of state issues. We work for Positive Ratings, please click on GREAT Service or (Smile Faces), as this would be appreciated and please bear in mind I can’t control what the law is and whether it helps you, I can only tell you what it says, and I assume you want truthful information.PLEASE DO NOT use the rating system to ask for more information or in an attempt to tell the website that you didn’t like the substance of the answer as it gives a NEGATIVE rating if you answer either “Helped a Little” or “I Expected More”.
