what happens when 2 of the 3 heirs owes the estate money? how do i prove this? they assured our mom of honesty now that she is gone they are denying the debt. they have the only paperwork but one heir had been paying back 100.00 a month by check.

The debt is no longer owed to your mom, it is owed to the estate.

It can be proven by testimony, cancelled checks, any evidence which would go to prove it was not a gift and repayment was promised.

Be aware, the statute of limitations could bar recovery if the debt is old enough.
