I was asked by a professional theatre company to promote a stage play that they are touring with now. They asked me because I am a local in the area they want to come to, and they were told that I can get the word out. My question is I would like to know what rates should I charge for my services to this professional theatre company. They told me that they would like to have my quote up front to calculate what their budget will allow them to spend on promotions. I have never done any promotions besides those for one of my own events, and have no clue what to charge or how to charge.
Hi, Welcome to JustAnswer! My name is XXXXX XXXXX X will endeavor to answer your question.
When I toured with a theater company years ago, we would typically pay local promoters depending on the size of the venue, between 2% & 4% of the average box office gross over the first 10 programs of the run.
The theatre has a capacity of 500 and the show will be a one time one day event, and all promotional efforts will come from me alone. Any suggestions?
How much will the tickets be sold for?
Were I in your shoes, I would ask for 8% to 10% of the gross ticket sales.
