Customer Question

I recently an Ac1 test that I normally get done once a year. I didn't do a test last year and went in to do a test. I tested at 7.2%. Does this mean I have diabetes? This is the first time I've tested at this number. I don't have diabetes in my family. If you do need other test results such as hdl, ldl, and cholesterol I can provide you with those numbers.

Hello from JustAnswer.
Yes, a HgbA1c level of 7.2% is diagnostic of diabetes. A level above 6.5% is indicative of diabetes.
It is possible that diabetes at this level may be able to be managed through diet and exercise, but it still would be considered to be diabetes.
If I can provide any further information, please let me know.
