Customer Question

Thank you so much. He has been having chest pain and his blood pressure has been known to climb to the 170/120's If he cannot get in soon should he go to a new primary? He has a language barrier with his current Dr that told him he needed to do the diet detox and he was in danger but mostly she told him to go off the testim that his level is still less than a third what it should be but the medication will make him sterile. A Dr in Portland gave him the medication before he moved to Dallas and he was the lowest level the dr had ever seen. Thanks again. Just concerned about how long to wait?

The testosterone cream will usually prevent sperm production but not always and it will be reversable when he stops. If his levels are low then his dose has to be increased or switched to a different preparation. Do not do detox regimens, it is quackery. See if he can change his PCP to an internist who will be able to do the proper evaluation.

He should be evaluated as to why his BP is so high and treated to bring it down. Again an internist will help.

On thing about it again if his BP is as high as you mentioned and he has had chest pain this becomes worrisome and would recommend he see a specialist to look for and treat rare caused of high BP such as pheochromocytoma or aldosteronoma(adrenal tumors) or problems with the arteries to the kidney. A good internist could do this as well as an endocrinologist.
