My daughter is supposed to have Graves disease. She is taking 50 mg to control throid and a blood pressure pill. She has been taking for about 15 months. The doc says it would be best to do RAI. She has stopped taking the meds a week ago as she is scheduled for RAI tomorrow and she feels great. I know RAI will not cure the disease and might cause other issues. I also know the meds she is taking have risks also and she cannot take for the long haul. There are natural endocinologists that say RAI is the worst thing you can do. I do not know which way to advise. Can you help?
Optional Information: Person's Gender: Female Person's Age: 17 Already Tried: 15 months of methimazone which went from 30-50MGs over time. also 25MGs Atenolol for blood pressure
Why do you say that RAI will not cure the disease? Thank you.
