I have a 23 yr old daughter who has in the past 3 weeks has been more tired than usual, crampy, backache, headache, shakey, dizziness at times, vomitting about every 3 days or so sore breasts and is on the pill has since stopped the pill and is not pregnant . thyroid tests done and CBC no answers...I was thinking PCOS but her Doctor told her she is stressed and or depression and those are NOT the answer. We know she is not depressed and she is not stressed. I thought the Doctor should have done an ultrasound, instead she says to wait until her period comes and then see, but the symptoms are annoying, if they persist she said she should go to an endocrinologist. I thought too maybe a blood test for diabetes...Is there anything that comes to mind? She has had a pap and been tested for STD's..all negative. Also, her last period in october was lighter than normal.....Thank you...Very frustrated mother
Already Tried: going to regular doctor had blood tests, pap test and manual pelvic exam
Have they tested her prolactin level?
Not to my knowledge, only a thyroid test whatever that would consist of. Are you thinking tumor? What and why would prolactin levels be off kilter?
Well, elevated prolactin levels can certainly cause her symptoms and they should screen her for it. It is made by a prolactinoma which is a benign tumor in the brain. It just happens. It is usually curable, or at least treatable- so they should screen her for this..warm regards
