What does Metformin 850 mg (twice a day) do for my diabetes

Customer Question

What does Metformin 850 mg (twice a day) do for my diabetes? My A1C is 6.9 and I want to reduce it to below 6.0 if I can.

Hello. My goal is to find you an answer!

DocPhil213 :

Metformin basically makes the body more sensitive to the effects of insulin. It in effect decreases the insulin resistance associated with type 2 diabetes. With exercise, diet and metformin, I believe an A1c less than 6 is a very attainable goal.
