Ok so I have a hobby it's called dog shows and I worked for a couple and it didn't turn out well and it involves grooming dogs and i went to go get something I left the dog attended with somebody but the old employers now telling potential employers that I killed a dog yet no dogs were harmed what can I do about this because this is my future career

You or a lawyer for you can demand they cease and desist from making such statements.

Legally, what they are doing is defamation and amounts to tortious interference with employment.

Normally an employer only confirms employment and nothing more. Faced with risk of being sued for such conduct, the employer should stop.
