Customer Question

can an employer change a punch-in time if the employee clocks in early to work and waits until actual work time begins?
JA: Because employment law varies from place to place, can you tell me what state this is in?
Customer: Missouri
JA: Has anything been filed or reported?
Customer: No, but General Manager wants to start changing and I didn't think we could change times.
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: no.

Company cannot change the time sheet as a general rule.

The exception is if employee consents, or employee as lied or made a mistake or violated company policy, which should be memoralized in writing on a case by case basis.
