We live in SC and my husband accepted a management position

Customer Question

We live in SC and my husband accepted a management position in MS. There was a 90 day trial period during which time he was given a vehicle allowance and placed on company insurance. He acquired a leased vehicle for 3 years and we were taken off Market Place insurance. 1 day prior to trial period expiration, they handed him a separation agreement. Does he have any recourse to get anymore than the 2 weeks pay they are offering him?

He can pursue a larger package by negotiation especially if company did any of the following:

1. discriminate in ending his employment due to race, gender, age or nationality

2. violate its own rules and policies

3. has a practice of paying a larger severance

4. misled him into thinking he would stay longer, and based on that he relied and spent money, gave up opportunities, incurred expenses.
