Customer Question

I have been presented with a RIF letter from my employer stating my position has been eliminated. But they have recently rehired and promoted an individual into the same position. They have also offered me a demotion with a reduction in pay of $22k.
JA: Because employment law varies from place to place, can you tell me what state this is in?
Customer: I am a contractor working overseas
JA: Is the employment agreement "at will," union, full time or part time?
Customer: It is a one year contract..not sure if it is "at will"
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?

Unfair dismissal, the only conclusion of can come to from what you have suggested.

File a complaint with the Fair Work Commission:

They should see that they filled the position with another and it is clear they are just trying to get rid of you.
