I am employed by a non-for-profit in the Kansas City

Customer Question

I am employed by a non-for-profit in the Kansas City Missouri area , while under my supervision at total of $2000.00 was stolen in cash, the organization now states they will take the funds out of my check. I was also informed that this is the policy of the organization. I have checked the organizational policy and have not found such statement in their policy. How should I handle such?

The company may not so deduct. It is a violation of the state and federal labor law including the fair labor standards act.

Even if company had a policy, it is illegal to deduct and can subject the company to damages in excess of the amount they take.
